On Wednesday, my tough daddy gave all of us quite a scare! At 10:30am he started feeling sick and by 12pm the EMS, 2 police, and firemen were at our house helping sick daddy on the floor who had no strength whatsoever. But by 8pm, he was home snuggling with his favorite daughter, talking on the phone with his relatives, and eating rice boiled in broth. We think he got a really nasty bug that hit him quick and knocked him out (vomiting, dizziness, low temperature, no strength whatsoever- couldn't even lift his arm, couldn't see straight, in and out of consciousness, etc.). Thursday morning he woke up still feeling puny and had stomach pains but felt much better. After a 3 hour nap, he was ready to go see some friends from Orlando who were in town. Today Dad ate rice and chicken and even sneaked (is snuck seriously not a word?) in some marshmallows but staying away from salt! Daddy seems to be almost back to normal and we are all very grateful it was nothing worse that a nasty bug! (He had multiple tests done and everything came back clear!)
Special thanks to the Urquharts, our neighbors (Celia got to the house before Mom could, picked me up from school, brought us dinner, and Albert stayed with Mom and Dad at the hospital and drove them home), Kris Bailey (close family friend from church who lives nearby), Larry (policeman from church who came to the house when he heard the call), Kim and Laurie (my angels at work), and all the people who called/texted/emailed to check on dad!
Daddy, I am so grateful you are more than okay and love you oh so very much! (and really bummed I was not able to get a picture of them taking your temperature!)
Zoe checking on Grampy... she was wimpering when she was riding with us in Mrs. Urquhart's van- she could tell something was wrong!
Dad talking to his oldest sister
Mom on the phone and sending out an email... the phones were ringing off the hook when we got home...
Dad's hospital bracelet... he couldn't get that thing off fast enough
