Aunt Jeanne and I arrived in Prague! After a nightmare of a time in the Paris airport (NEVER fly through there... land there and stay there, sure but NEVER have a connecting flight. It is the most unorganized airport ever), we landed in Prague (great airport), with NO luggage. The lady we reported it to said that most Paris luggage didn't make it... shocker! However, we got a wake-up call at 9:50pm (we went to bed early, we were tired) saying that our luggage had arrived and they delivered in to our room!! Best wake up call ever!
Ok... now back to our first day in Prague. As soon as we got to our hotel, we decided to venture out while we still had energy. And our first stop... Christmas market, of course! We stopped at a stall for lunch which was hot mulled wine and ham/ bread for me. He carved my bread right off the bone which was roasting over fire!
Aunt Jeanne had a sausage and mulled wine.
Trdelnik roasting over coals (dough spiraled over a huge cylinder and then rolled in sugar once warm)
Christmas tree in the middle of the Christmas Market
Mistletoe (some painted silver and gold)
Aunt Jeanne and her mulled wine in front of the Christmas Market
The Powder Tower
Advent Calendar on shop windows (when we get to the number, the day goes out)
The Christmas tree in Old Towne (the lights would move to make it look like snow)
Our hotel
At this point we reached exhaustion, so we took a cat nap, went to our intro meeting, and then had a quick dinner at the hotel before crashing for the night. We loved our quick intro to Prague!
