Sunday... change of plans

Sunday morning, for the first time during Labor Day weekend, we left the house for church (we usually have church together at our cabin) and it was a great experience and encouragement! We met with the small but wonderful Asheville church which consists of 5 families who have a lot of heart and love. It was great worshipping and eating with them!

After lunch at church, we rushed home to change clothes to go zip lining that afternoon! So we rushed to get change, get babies ready and in the car, try to get keys, and then GO! BUT instead we sat and sat and sat in the car! Paul and I in the front while Chrissy, Kai, and Meg sat in the back. Below are the pictures that took place during our sitting and waiting time. We waited so long because we found out we would not make it in time for our zip line reservation and we were waiting for others to come from a variety of places to decide where to go next. After discussing where to go (for what felt like forever), the "kid" car was told to go on to Linville Falls and the rest would meet us there.

Then we just became annoyed and ready for a decision to be made




After going the wrong way (south/north, left/right... even in the mountains they are not the same!), we finally made it to Linville Falls!! Due to a lack of communication (which happened all weekend long between the adults and the kids- sorry Kris, that includes you), the kids ended up at the falls first and started exploring. We made it to the first falls, very pretty and great spot for pictures! Due to Kai fussing (well actually he fell asleep as soon as we were leaving the waterfall area) and just maybe our craving for milkshakes (there is no Wendy's or McD's off of the Blue Ridge Parkway... who would have thought such a thing!), we headed back to the house where Chrissy and I made dinner (with great help from Aunt Jeanne, Aunt Beth, and our hero while cooking every meal... Dad)- flavorful shrimp and lemon fried rice!








After dinner, we chatted on the porch (simple and fun moment but probably my favorite part of Labor Day). Then we had dessert- pink lemonade pie!

After dessert, we played a game (because it would not be a Labor Day weekend without playing a game). This game (Apples to Apples) was so much fun and a bit calmer but come to think of it, it still consisted of our crazy game-playing antics: screaming, throwing, arguing, cheating, and LOTS of laughter!
